The BuildU Story:
Constructing a Future of Freedom for Service Professionals
Six years ago, Randy and Darren met at eXp Realty, where they quickly formed a partnership rooted in growth, innovation, and a shared passion for helping others succeed. Randy, working on the growth team, assisted Darren in agent attraction, and from there, their collaboration expanded. What started as a professional connection soon turned into a friendship, built on the mutual drive to create something bigger than themselves. Over the years, they supported each other’s businesses, launched joint ventures, and continued to grow—not just as real estate professionals and federal loan officers at Brighton Bank, but as mentors and advocates for those looking to break free from traditional industry constraints.
In 2024, Randy took on a role at DataMaster (owned by Class Valuation), working alongside Marty to revolutionize marketing, sales automation, and CRM systems—leading the company's transition to HubSpot. It was during this time that they worked closely with appraisers, listening to their frustrations, their struggles, and their need for more control over their business and income. Marty, having worked with appraisers for years, had always wanted to find a way to empower them to grow beyond traditional limitations. He knew first-hand how skilled these professionals were, yet how often they were left waiting for work instead of building something sustainable.
That’s when the idea for BuildU was born.
The three of them—Randy, Darren, and Marty—saw a pattern. Not just in appraisers, but in loan officers, real estate agents, and other service professionals. These were highly skilled experts, yet most lacked the business structure, automation, and marketing systems needed to attract their own clients and create a business that worked for them, not the other way around. They watched as so many professionals worked harder, not smarter—waiting for business to come instead of having a system that brought clients to them automatically.
They knew there had to be a better way.
With decades of combined experience in real estate, lending, technology, and business development, they built BuildU—a platform that automates lead generation, client follow-ups, and business operations so that appraisers and service professionals can take control of their future.
